My story
Thirty years of caring hands
A neonatal nurse practitioner's journey from the NICU to creating skincare rooted in love, science, and purpose.
"I spent thirty years watching the most fragile lives begin. Every tiny patient reminded me how extraordinary skin is... ..and how much it deserves to be treated with care."
The beginning of a calling
I didn't set out to create a skincare line. I set out to care for people, that meant caring for the tiniest, most fragile patients imaginable: premature babies in the NICU.
From the very first day of my career, I understood that skin is not just a surface. It is a barrier, a communicator, a living organ that tells you everything about what's happening inside. In the NICU, where babies are born before their skin has fully formed, that understanding becomes urgent.
What the NICU taught me
As a neonatal nurse Practitioner, I have had the privilege of caring for premature babies whose skin is extremely delicate and vulnerable. Protecting their fragile skin taught me that even the smallest details matter. It deepend my understanding of gentleness, careful ingredient selection, and intentional care. Every product that touches them- every lotion, every adhesive, every wipe — matters in ways that most people never have to think about.
I spent three decades thinking about it. I learned which ingredients were gentle enough for the most vulnerable skin on earth. I learned what 'fragrance-free' really means, and why it matters. I learned that less is almost always more. The best skincare is the kind that supports the skin's own intelligence rather than overwhelming it.
That knowledge didn't stay in the NICU. It came home with me.
The inspiration
During these years, I watched the babies I cared for grow into toddlers, teenagers, adults. I also watched them and their mothers struggle to find skincare products they could actually trust.
The market is full of products that promise gentleness but cause irritation. Products labelled "natural"on the label but contain ingredients I would never use on a premature baby. Products formulated by people who have never seen what a reaction looks like on compromised skin.
I knew I could do better. Not because I wanted to build a business — but because I had spent most of my life learning exactly how.
Why 'Agape'
Agape is the Greek word for unconditional love. This is the kind of love that gives without expecting anything in return. It is the love a parent has for a child. It is the love a nurse has for a patient at three in the morning when no one else is watching.
It is the love that drove every decision I made in the NICU, and it is the love that drives every formula we create at Agape Makers.
The real side of Agape is the love God shows us and calls us to share with others. We chose that name because we believe skincare should be an act of love. Caring for ourselves is not only about outward appearance; it is also about respecting and caring for the bodies God has given us. So, our skin deserves thoughtful attention. A consistent, carefully chosen skincare routine can help support the skin's comfort, appearance, and overall condition.
The Mission
This belief inspired me to create Agape makers. This is a skin care brand built on love, knowledge, integrity, and purposeful formulation. Agape Makers exists to bring NICU-grade thoughtfulness to skincare for everyone, from the first days of life to the last. We formulate for babies, for teenagers navigating changing skin, and for adults who deserve products that actually work without compromise. Agape Makers also has a purpose beyond skincare. My vision is to use the majority of the brand's net profits, as the business grows and become sustainable, to support charitable causes, Mission work, and programs helping women and children who are suffering around the world. Every purchase helps us move closer to that mission.
Agape Makers is more than a business to me. It is an opportunity to combine my knowledge and experience as a nurse practitioner, my passion for skincare, and my Christian faith to care for people in a meaningful way. My hope is that every product will encourage someone to care for the body God has given them while also helping extend compassion and hope to someone in need. We are not the biggest skincare brand. We are not the flashiest. But we are the most careful — because careful is what I was trained to be, and careful is what every person's skin deserves.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for trusting us with something as personal as your skin.
With love,
Moni The Founder, Agape Makers
